Want SEXED Bantams ????

As you know, it is almost impossible to find sexed Bantam chicks. There is one company that does sell them, but they do not have the huge variety that a company like Ideal Poultry has.

I have appealed to Ideal to start sexing Bantams, as there are many of us out there that would be willing to pay much more for bantam chicks if we knew they were sexed and we would not have to deal with unwanted roosters. For those of us that are in suburban or even urban areas, finding a home for a chick that you hoped was a pullet and you realize is now really a cockerel is challenging, to say the least. And the thought of culling them is beyond what many of us are able to do.

I e-mailed them. I hope they will follow through. We are currently raising 6 straight run bantams from the local feed store, 5 of which are roosters that I will have to find homes for!! It is really more expensive to raise a bunch of roosters than to pay more up front for pullets. It is especially difficult because we live in an area where roosters are not tolerated and also because my kids get attached to all of the chicks and it is hard to let them go. Thanks for doing this. I hope more people will take a moment to e-mail Ideal.

Hey! I just came across this post a thought wow we should really keep it going! I shot an e-mail over to Ideal and I'm hoping to hear back from them. Sexing bantams really is an open market, My Pet Chicken seems to be the only guys out there doing it. I figure if they came back to the idea with optimism we might as well take a minute and drop them a line.

Most of the MyPetChicken's females cost $10, with a 5 bantam minimum. Plus shipping, which would be $35 for me. And I think there is a $25 special box charge. Way worth it to me as I sit here with 4 roos and 2 hens. Did find homes for the other 5 roos I had.

Unity is key my friends. Personaly I wouldn't pay $10 for a chick,but not every1 has the options that I do.(poultry auction chicks average 50 cents a piece) 4 wyondot pullets 1 cockeral about 5 weeks old $2.70 with tax...Low budget man. Willing to help your cause tho.
