How much is the shipping costing you?

I am buying two birds from Jaime in the winter and the total to get them to FL is about $150 (as far as I can remember)

you may want to weigh gas prices vs. freight (depending on how many birds you want and what you drive, of course) and drive to an APA National Show....??

Do you remember how much of that is shipping, and how much is the cost of the birds?

I'm just asking because I'm interested in various birds that are hard to get -- and I'm NOT especially interested in either hatching eggs OR in buying day olds, if I can avoid it. So I'm really interested in how much shipping would cost, not just theoretically but from people who are actually doing it.

And no, I can't be driving to FL!

I'm really tempted to go to the National show in Ohio,but I'd have to get someone to take care of my critters here while I'm gone -- and THAT part isn't gonna happen for now, until I get settled in better here at the new place.

OTOH, the ABA is having a show in November that I AM going to if I can, and I may get birds there!

It costs me about $55 for a pair shipped from Jamie to Arkansas. I have some birds coming from him at the end of the month. I already have some of his line, so that is part of the reason I am looking for other lines. I am also supposed to have Judy Gantts lines.
