I am looking to get 3 chicks total, 1 rooster and 2 hens. If you live in the Roanoke Va area and sell please let me know

It sounds like you would like to hatch your own eggs in the future? That one rooster will most likely run the 2 hens ragged. Even if he is a wonderful flock protector, he would be better off, as would your hens if he could spread his amorous intentions out between 8 - 12 girls. My unsolicited advice is to get 3 pullets, and hatch some fertilized eggs from an other flock when you're ready.
