I am looking for peafowl for spring. (this can be difficult if your hubby doesn't like to spend very much money on birds). I am not picky as far as breed. I simply think they are gorgeous birds in general. Does anyone know where I can get them cheap or even someone who is giving them away?

    Try your local animal shelters.

You may want to do a lot of research on the costs associated with proper care, feed and housing of peafowl before you decide to get any.

I have been looking into it, and my hubby doesn't have a problem with the costs of care, for some reason it's just the cost to buy them that bothers him.
And in NE the animal shelters are pretty limited to cats and dogs.
