Do you live in a HOA?

The best thing you can do is call your local city hall. They should be able to tell you all you need to know about the laws in your area.

You might also chat with your chicken neighbors in your state thread and maybe someone nearby you knows the laws in your area...https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/29002/alabama

Time for a quick call to city hall, then - they can give you direct information based on the current ordinances that might apply.
