Warm whole oat groats with maple syrup = chick LOVE

So our weather took a turn for the horribly rainy and cold (after a good couple weeks of springtime) and I thought the chicks might enjoy a nice warm bowl of whole oat groats (lovingly purchased at Whole Foods for them...they are upscale chickens) with some syrup on top. BOY did they! I don't think the pan lasted 3 minutes O.O Their crops look like they're stuffed totally full, and they are lounging under the heat lamp now. The picture of contentment.
