So its been fairly hot here, the chicks seem happy, though my barred rocks like to peck at me a bit. They have plenty of water, and have destroyed all forms of grass/weeds in the section of yard i built for them. I know they cool themselves in the dirt, but should i put out a water bath for them to bathe in? For several hours of the day the only shade seems to be under the coop, which i purposely raised high enough off the ground. Just wondering if they would like a little pool to cool off in.

Not a bath so much as something with just a couple inches of water in it. They like to wade in something like that once they figure out that it won't eat them lol.

Most use old kid's pools but even a dishpan or cake pan will do. Especially one of those square 9x14 ones.
