Hi everyone,

I have 8 Muscovy babies that are around 9 days old, they are all doing well in my new brooder and I was wondering when I should give them water deep enough for them to dunk their heads and clean with?

Thanks!

As long as you supervise them give them something to swim in like a long cake pan. they will make a mess but love it and then make sure to get them back under the heat lamp to dry and warm up. As for washing their faces maybe try using a large butter dish cut a hole in the top big enough for them to stick their heads into but not be able to climb into. place a rock in the bottom to keep them from tipping it over. There is a pic somewhere in the BYC archives on how to make it, very simple. heres one idea.. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/duck-raisinghousing
