I have 5 hens and was wondering how i could keep their water from freezing in the winter and electricity would be hard to run to the coop any input would be helpful thanks in advance

There is no way to keep water from freezing without electricity. If you can not get power to your coop you will have to supply fresh water to your birds twice a day. Black rubber bowls are the easiest to break ice out of.

Hey! Here is something that might help.

IN the winter chickens are in the coop lots... so put a golf ball or ping pong ball in there water (if its an a tub) when the chickens move the water around the ping pong ball breaks the ice on the top. But again that only goes so far... hope this helps
Especially if you have a duck. they will drink VERY often they will move the water.
