What is the purpose of a water weeny in an incubator? I am making my own and it says to stick the thermomitor in it, but why?

    [IMG] I think it's a water wiggler!
I've never used one but I believe the benefit of putting a thermometer inside of it is to simulate what the internal temperature of the incubating egg is.
Then you know what temps your eggs are actually experiencing.

Ha ha! I guess it is a water wiggler! So is your temp still supposed to 99.5? Can you get a humidity measurement from there too?

I'm going to suggest that you do a search of water wiggler in this forum.
Because my knowledge of water weenies [IMG] doesn't go any further..I'm sorry!

Weasel isn't that far off from weeny!
    Thanks for posting a pic!
I have only read about them on this forum, not seen a pic of them.
