I know I'm driving everyone crazy with questions [IMG] ....sorry [IMG]. I can't seem to get my temp to stabilize. The thermostat (water heater therm) seems to be doing its job, but the temp in the wiggler goes from 101 to 98 [IMG] . Most have said their temps stay the same in the wiggler....did I do something wrong? Is there something I'm missing? Also, my thermometer has a min/max recording....it said the max last night was 115 [IMG] !! Is it possible I still have a chance of hatching some chicks [IMG] ?

Is there a chance that the wiggler is in front of the fan?? Too close to the heat source? These might cause the temp readings to fluctuate. (sp?) 115?? WOW, thats hot...I would waite a few days, then candle. How far along are you on the hatch??

If I can find my camera, I'll take a pic of my bator this evening. I don't have a fan....the wiggler is on the opposite side of the light....but straight across from it. I'm on day 5 [IMG]. I have brown eggs too so it will take longer to candle them won't it?

You will want to waite untill at least day 10 to candle. Brown eggs are hard to candle, but it can be dont in a very dark room, with a GOOD flashlight. Good luck, hope it turns out ok!

Do you have any holes or opening in the incubator. My first one I made did better if I opened most of the holes I placed in it for circulation. My new one I only made 4 holes in the top and I plug them with wine corks. But I have to leave 2 open and I'm holding a 100.5* with 50-52% humidity. Maybe that might help you also.

I made some on the top and bottom, front and back with a pencil. I think there are 12 on each side.....6 on top, 6 on bottom. So 24 pencil size holes in all. Should I plug some of those? I was wondering if I should have made them larger for circulation....but now.... What do you think?
