    ???? What purpose does it serve for the incubator??? Thanks.

    I believe it's used as a judge of temp inside the eggs. You would insert a thermometer in the middle and the temp it reads should be close to what the inside of the egg temp reads. I THINK, but I'm not sure, as I don't use one.
