This one will rock your world. Last spring a Canada Goose couple nesting at the Wheatlands Apartment complex in Illinois gave birth to 19 goslings. I interviewed residents who live in the apartments and they claim the family is not the melding of two families but actually just one. I searched the complex and the adjacent forest preserve for what must have been one massive nest, but found nothing. I am delighted to report that ALL GOSLINGS survived to adulthood! Yay!
She looks to be very healthy, I have a gander going on 7yrs old and I'm so hoping I have many many more years with him, they are just so very special. How many geese do you have?
I have seven of them and it always amazes me how they stick together when a predator comes leaking about .... One of them lost his goose and likes to pick at the others feathers ...... It is really hard to get a photo of them together so I had to put out some rice with some mixed vegetables to get everyone together for a photo op ..... gander007
