That's Naomi. She's the one that we thought was a cockeral. I got her from Ellen (birdlover)!

She apparently has been laying in a nest in the veryyy back of the coop that no one had thought to check.. These are the first eggs I have gotten (other than duck eggs) since getting back into Chickens!

i have a hen that looks very much like her. huge comb for a little lady!

she's a sneaky one. the little ones are...you gotta watch 'em like hawks...next thing you know, they're driving your car, using your ATM card to order pizza and inviting other chickens over for parties!

hope her little clutch works out!

Forget the huge comb, this lady even has SPURS. About 1" - 1 & 1/2" spurs. [IMG]

[IMG] Woo hooo! So glad you finally found her stash!! I read your post the other day where you were lamenting that your chickens were freeloaders and you weren't getting any eggs. I almost felt like it was my fault! [IMG] Do you think they're fertile? Does your silkie roo even try to approach her? [IMG]

I thought one looked a little different too.. But they are all pretty much the same size, just a TINY difference in shade.

Naomi was sitting on all 3 of them I think she was either finishing laying one of them, or getting ready to lay another but I do not think she was broody yet. But either way, we took them from her. We don't want chicks hatching in this kind of weather. I don't even think our silky roo could do any damage quite yet though. [IMG]
