The girls had to deal with 100 degree plus temps today so I thought I would give them an extra treat before bedtime. I found a wet area under one of my trees and started digging. I got 4 nice fat worms and went to the chicken run. There was some worry on my part wondering if my 5 week old girls would like worms...there was no need to worry. My run became a feeding frenzy that made me have visions of a shark attack! Now I only have 2 RIR's and 2 barred rocks, but they were moving so fast and furious that it seemed I had many more. When all the worms were devoured the birds decided to jump up on my 15 year old daughter and search through her hair for more. This did not go over too well with the daughter. Tomorrow I think I will dig worms earlier in the day and give them a ration for each of them in their respective corners, sans teenager...LOL:clap

That's wonderful! I can't wait until I get my coop built and get chicks and they grow up and eat worms. It will be like turning oak leaves into eggs. (My oak leaves get completely transformed into black worm-poopy soil and the worms grow large and juicy).
