My guess is that NFC (reply above) is correct about their age. She knows chickens!
And I hadn’t thought about them still needing heat, probably because I always started with 6- or 7-week old pullets and just have no experience with these cute fluffballs. But it’s true that they need serious feathers for spring nights.
But other than some extra babying over the next four weeks, they seem like a perfect age for you. They’re much more likely to see you as a friend, because you’ve gotten them at this age.
Mine still look at me as if I have a chainsaw hidden behind my back. I didn’t have them as itty-bitties.
