We got chicks! [IMG] [IMG] We found an ad in a local paper for chicks and went out to look at them and came home with 10! Our goal is 4 hens, but this guys chicks are straight run (he will buy back any that are roosters) so we figure we hopefully will get our 10 out of this bunch. We got Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rock, one Black Sex Link, and one Brown Leghorn. Here's a pic of them happy and sleepy in their brooder. Oh, and the bonus is that the guy is going to build us a small coop for about $50!! [IMG] Very simple design but plenty good enough for our purposes. I will post a photo of it when we get it in a couple of weeks.

Good for you, Chelly, they are adorable and you have a nice brooder setup! Sounds like a great deal, a coop even- WOW!
