Yes, well I think I do based on the color of the egg ~ pretty sure my buff Orpington is the layer ... she'll get a treat for sure

Keep track...for one whole year...how many eggs you get.

I am being serious. Print out a month calendar and hang it on your fridge..tally marks for ever egg you collect.
I take it one step further and code color my eggs.
I know since day one how many blue eggs, dark brown eggs, pinkish ones and born ones I have gotten. It will help in the future too, you will see when/if your numbers go down...helps keep track of their health.

I like the calendar idea .. might get one for the coop ~ great idea

I keep a yearly type calendar notebook type thing on the kitchen counter.
You can also keep track of the day you buy feed/supplies and see everything chicken related in one spot!
