we got our first eggs then it stopped

we have 5 hens and 2 ducks a male and a female and our male duck is chasing our hens and pinning them down so we have cooped up the hens and they stopped laying....... ideas please help us Thank you

The chickens are on strike because of the change in their environment - they hate change. Separating them from the drake was essential. He was trying to breed them, and drakes are different anatomically from roosters and he could seriously injure them. Could you pen the ducks in another pen and allow the hens to return to their pen?
 
yes we have the chickens in a separate pen now and the ducks cant get to them, so do you think they will start to lay again?
 
oh and we found a cream colored egg by the ducks pool do you think it would be a duck egg and should i leave it there for her to sit on?

$sorry I thought you wrote the egg was in the pool...anyway duck and chicken eggs are diff. shape. What shape is the egg? If you want to let her hatch it, put the egg you just found some place safe out of drafts and airconditioning, when you find out who it is slip the egg under her.
