Well, the first batch went bust (literally, & stinky-ily, one by one!) They were shipped, so it wasn't a huge suprise. Our hatch rate with shipped eggs is a consistant 0%. Yeah, I'm stubborn, and learn lessons hard, LOL, so I keep trying.

But, after the last batch, we decided to just put some of our own polish eggs under and see what happens. Since she'd already been broody for about a month, we didn't want to delay geting something under there!

Voila! Three little White Crested Blues hatched yesterday, and we have one this morning, though it's a little new yet for judging color.

    Three eggs to go.

The 4H DD is thrilled. We've not hatched our own before, we never had roosters around when we had broody gals. So this is a super exciting adventure!

Pitched the SSH after checking it, wasn't developing.

So we're at 4 babies -- 3 blue, 1 black. And 2 to go, hopefully tomorrow (probably while I'm doing the grocery shopping, instead of sitting there watching and checking too! [IMG] darn!)

  7. Congratulations! Can't wait to see chick pics.
