We just found this little tiny egg in our duckhouse.....Do ducks lay little eggs? We have four females and we believe all of them have been laying......But we recently had a snake in our duckhouse as well and I know they lay eggs too! Needless to say I'm a bit spooked! :) Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thank you! :) IMG_9182.JPG

I'm not sure what type of eggs and I know very little about snakes but do they not lay multiple eggs???

Well I'm not very experienced on ducks *yet* but if anything, the snakes would eat the eggs instead of lay them in there.

It's definitely not a snake egg, anyway - snake eggs are more like ovals, not spheres.

That's a relief! It just kind of threw me.......We got one of our females as a duckling and when she started laying she didn't ever lay anything that small! Its a real puzzle.

Well every once in a while you get an odd egg out. Once I got a 138 gram chicken egg that was like 6 inches...

Actually, I got two. Here's a pic of the second one: IMG-1373.JPG
I'm sure your ducks will be fine... just keep your eyes peeled for any other eggs like that.

    Looks like a 'fairy' egg.

It is! another name for them is "fart eggs". They don't have a yolk, it's just a glitch in the egg factory machine. I've gotten 5-6 from my girls. Nothing to worry about at all.

    Yep, a fairy egg.

Unless of course, your duckling has already started laying. :gig
