We need some ideas on a sling for injured bird

We have a sebright, tiny bird, with a hurt leg and we want to put him in "traction" so it can heal...We've made slings before but they were always sloppy and half assed, anyone have a quick easy method?!?! Would a saddle work that could be suspended? I've seen a couple that accomodate a leash, I thought that may allow him to be suspended but didn't know if the pressure on chest would bother him in it, we've never seen one on a bird up close to know how it fits exactly... Thanx in advance.....
