I am new with backyard chickens and all my hens stop laying does weather have something to do with it? They haven't stop laying long about a day I am just so used to them laying one every day this is going to be there first winter they are used to it being hot out and now the temp is in the 60s and there not laying that much I only got one yesterday

Yes, many chickens will slow down this time of year, and lay less or even stop in the winter, then start again in the spring. They will also susally stop while they are molting, which may or may not be obvious, and which can take a few months to complete.

I should of posted this a long time ago but my girls started laying outside in a little dirt hole haha crazy chickens
