Wedding Tradition? Exchanging chickens?

I'm Trying to sell two roosters and someone contacted me interested in purchasing them to exchange them at a traditional wedding. Has anybody heard of this? I can't imagine it would be a good home for them to be exchanged at a wedding. Then what?

I've heard of it in some African and Asian cultures. Not always for eating purposes, sometimes as a gift for the young couple to start their flock.

Interesting. I tried to tell them if they were starting a flock they shouldn't start it with two roosters !

I'd say they do want them for eating then. Or they don't know the different.
