I am going away for 2 nights and wondering if I should have someone check on the chickens or if they might be ok on thier own.

I have 4 - 8 week old chicks, and 2 - 4 week old chicks.

The older ones are in the coop, I have hanging feeder and waterer (big enough for an army) and the little ones are still in the brooder.

I am DILIGENT about changing the water 2X a day and checking on the feed (me = A Type). But I am wondering if for 2 days and nights they might be ok.

Anyone else leave their chicks?

Thanks!

Can you leave enough water for them? What if they tip it over and empty it on the first day - will your set up prevent that happening?

I have left a flock of laying hens for up to 5 days, just having a neighbor come in to check on them now and then. As long as they have feed and water enough for the time you are gone, and are in a secure space (think predators), they should be fine.
