Hi, new to the chicken family. I have started raising Buff Orps and Black Austrolorps. I have a hen that is acting very strange. She is mostly staying in the chicken coop in one nest. Thought she was sitting on an egg but after a full day of her sitting in the same spot I got worried. Lifted her up and no eggs. She finally came out of the coop today and was all fluffed up like our rooster used to do before attacking something. The first and only time that have seen her come out she started fighting with the other hens. She finally pooped and had a bad case of diarhea along with white worms. Went tractor supply and got some Wazine and started worming all the chickens. Still did not think it was only worms so I looked around the chicken pen and found a half eaten toad. I guess my question is, do you think that maybe the toad is what is making her act like that? Do you think that having worms would make her act like that. Really thought about putting her down because she is attacking the other chickens but want to give her a chance to recover. A rabid racoon i guess would be a very close description to the way she is acting.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. These hens we have had since Last Sept and have become a part of our family.

    Thanks for any suggestions !!

Sounds to me as if she is going broody.
