My pullets just started laying about a week ago and last night I had a weird looking egg. It was very light in color due to a weird "skin" over the egg (see pic below compared to normal egg). Any ideas on what this is? I've started mixing egg shells in their layer pellets, do I need osyster shells too?

Osyster shell is always a good idea. When hens first start laying, some strange eggs will happen. It's their system working things out. It should straighten itself out in time. Give it time.
