Weird egg

I have chickens that have been laying eggs for a few weeks. I’m not exactly sure who layed this egg but I think it was my black Australorp since she’s been laying eggs under this tree. This egg was pretty small and misshapen. It was flatter on one side and it had indentations that looked like a crack but it was just the way it was. When I cracked it, it was almost like popping a water balloon because the egg white was so thin. Should I be concerned about this or is it normal?

I'd expect some glitchiness with eggs from a new layer. I wouldn't worry about it too much, hopefully it'll resolve itself without issue. Do the birds have a source of calcium available to them?

I agree, with new layers, things happen. Even if a hen just took a pause in laying for a while, sometimes they get glitches.

They are eating purina Layena with oyster strong, but nothing other than that except for occasional eggshells. Should I incorporate more calcium into their diet?

How much protein is in the feed? Yes, always leave oyster or egg shells on the side, where they cannot get wet.
