I would have thought it was from a broken egg, but there's no evidence if it was. What else would make my eggs sticky like that, and are they still safe to eat?[IMG]

Hello there and welcome to BYC! [IMG]

That looks like broken eggs to me. The birds are really good and cleaning up what they can eat. I think you may have had a cracked egg or a yolk laid and the birds went to town on it and left your eggs all....well, eggy! LOL

Thanks! My chickens just started laying a couple months ago, but I didn't think they would still be laying those funny shell-less things anymore!
With a cleaning before cooking these are still edible?

X2 on Two Crows. If you clean the eggs and cook them thoroughly, they should still be safe to eat.

Yes, if the eggs are washed and cooked well, you can probably eat them safely.

I often get eggs like that too. As long as you cook them throughly, they'll be fine.
