This is more of a story than a question, but one of my 13-week old turkeys (a hen) likes to talk to my 5-week old turkey poults. She makes a soft clucking sound at them like she is being friendly, but once she reaches them she'll start to peck them. I've just been thinking of it as her luring them into a false sense of security just so she can bite them.

I’ve noticed it’s the sweet sounding calls that are the ones that they use when they are upset or about to be aggressive. It’s very deceiving 😆
You are probably referring to the trilling sound. When they are trying to get poults to accept them it is more of a pleading and cooing sound.

The trilling is definitely looking for trouble.
