Weird or normal?

    When I pet my Americana's back she squats to the ground and opens her wings a tad. I s she waiting to get mated? She hasn't even layed her first egg.

    I think that it's a mating squat it's happened to me before.

    Well sometimes chickens just squat when you are right by them that means they are a pretty tame bird! it's almost same thing, like how before you pick up a cat they kind shrug their shoulders. It is hard to explain haha
