This is true, but wild birds also dust bathe. Some birds even dust bathe on the top of ant hills - they'll even sunbathe there after dust bathing. Theory is that the formic acid from the ants kills/deters mite or louse infections.

Never have seen a chicken bathing in water - not voluntarily anyways.

YEP...we just got home from Cody and checked them first thing. Two pips, but one is on the pointy end of the egg. <sigh>

You are such a wealth of information, be it useless or not. :highfive:
That's a good start! And it could still make it. I think Ruby has had several do that, and hatch just fine. (sorry to say I lost my wrong ender, I had its beak out and a good sized safety hole. Had to leave for a few hours. Came back and it had spun and drowned. Yolk was unabsorbed anyway, so probably better that it didn't hatch)

I know a little bit about a lot of things and not too much about anything. Plants, animals, the outdoors, nature - have always been my thing. Outside is where I am most comfortable - around people not so much. Human interaction is rough for we aliens.

He is a self-professed champion hugger.

It is a nice change from scflock and his [IMG]But, that never stopped me. [IMG]

Son finished his last exam. He sounds exhausted but relieved.
It will be so nice to see him in the flesh again.
