Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Baby was induced a week before her due date because of some concerns during pregnancy. The respiratory issue they think is because she came so fast that DIL only had to push twice, so she didn’t get the fluid pushed out of her lungs. I’ve been told that c-section babies can have this happen as well. Not sure about the blood sugar problem, but that apparently has corrected itself. Good news today is, she is eating well enough that she is no longer on a feeding schedule. She can eat whenever she wants and they aren’t constantly weighing her before and after feedings.

The hospital has provided a breast pump for her. It looks pretty high grade. Other than being home Tuesday and Thursday nights, Son has been with her.

Today I drove the boys to the hospital to finally meet their sister. DH and my mom also came so Mom could meet her. (DH has a cold, so he had to wait in the lobby). The boys got to be there (only 4 people allowed in the room including parents) for about 15 minutes, then Mom and I each got to hold her for about 5 minutes before we all had to leave to beat the weather home. DS took the boys and headed 2 hours south, and I went home with DH and Mom and headed 2 1/2 hours north. We drove out of the winter storm, Son and the boys drove into it, but fortunately it was just starting so only had about 10 minutes of bad weather driving. Son plans to stay home until Tuesday, then I will be back on duty if needed.
Aww..a new little one. Glad things are coming along.

Good morning pond! Just returned from my birthday vacation. Which was nice. A good break from the stress of life. Sadly though upon my return my duck pepper passed away. He had been sick for a some time and finally left me to be with his mom(Champ who helped me raise him) again on the other side. I think he waited till I was gone to pass. He will be missed so very much. I incubated and hatched him with his brother Jack while my husband was in the hospital 3 yrs ago. He was a great comfort and good distraction in a difficult time for me. May he be healthy and full of life in his next life.

On a happier note-Chaco continues to show great progress and as a matter of fact when I got home I found her to be all snuggled in my bed just living her best life lol. I guess she decided that she was tired of her "hospital pen" lol and decided the bed was much more suited for her needs.

So today I am washing all my bed linens. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ oh well. That's chicken life for ya. Lol

Upper 40s on my pond today. Everyone have a great Tuesday!
