I took the wife to buy lumber to extend the barn and make permanent coop & flyway for the birds today. so far I'm in for $480 just for support timber.

It's just money, you can't take it with you, enjoy it while you can.

Quote:Welcome to MY world! I asked my husband to build me a coop of re-purposed, reclaimed and/or recycled materials. Suffice it to say it ended up being shingled and roofed with CEDAR SHINGLES. I'm not complaining, mind you, but the cost was waaaaay more than I had hoped to spend. [IMG]

well as it is I was planing to extend my barn by 16' for its full length 48' I was going to rafter it out after I had the fenced enclosure up. I had originally planned to do a tractor just 16' x 8' but then things have escalated a bit [IMG] I'm waiting for my son to wake up so we can get started.

I was going to note to anyone near the area that Chelsea Lumber in Chelsea Michigan has quite the variety of fencing. they have 1" x 2" welded wire fence(48" tall) and the 72" high 2" x 4" fencing. they also have the hundred foot rolls of welded wire 4' wide in 1/4" & 1/2".
