One of our meat birds at 6 weeks now showed up today with splayed legs. Since it is almost 5 lbs already I think we will probably have to cull it tomorrow earlier than we planned. For future reference, does anyone actually try to fix splayed legs in a meat bird and how would you go about doing it? If this bird was a lot younger we might worry about messing with it but for tonight it's scooting around it's pen getting food and water just fine so ... However, we are planning on getting some more in the spring and the possibility might come up that we have to fix another bird at that point. Just planning ahead ...
