I may not be worth a crap at using my bator, but, I have two broodies and I just candled a couple of the eggs and I see veins, [IMG] Now I know what I was looking for with the eggs in the bator. Anyway one hen is setting 10 eggs on around day ten, and the other hen has five eggs on maybe day five. [IMG]

Bobbie, you'll have to try that again, hon. I know you can do it! Just think of the first time as a trial run and a learning experience.

Oh I'm not giving up yet, lol. Just happened the hens went broody so I let them go with it. My flock has just been laying a month or so and I thought what the heck, I have four of my own eggs in the bator now, wasn't sure of their fertility and I am seeing what I need to see as far as candling, there is one in there now with a blood ring and a couple that seem to be developing but they are brown so kind of hard to tell, I also moved the bator to my closet thinking there is less temp change in there as there would be in the rest of the house. I candled a few under the hens and actually seen the veining I was sooooo excited. So yea you have to learn as you go.

And I am still wanting some of those blue babies, lol.
