I've got 16 straight-run welsh harlequins I bought from Cackle a month ago. Everybody is healthy and happy, growing great! I'm doing a little planning on what drakes are heading to freezer camp, and I'm looking for some clarification. They are still a little short of their adult plumage but I can tell at least on the hens, that I have some that are very light (silver phase?) and some that are darker (golden phase?) I'm assuming I'll soon be able to tell some similar differences in the drakes.
The little bit I've seen on here with the differences between silver and gold phase has been confusing, and often contradictory. I'm hoping there's somewhere I can get some information on breed standards, or any help on what to consider on who makes the cut?
I'm not planning to breed anytime soon, but planning on keeping at least one drake for when the time is right.
