According to holder read, if I cross my harlequin drake with a cayuga duck, her offspring will lay better. Will they still lay grey eggs? Will they be sexlinked? Help. Does anybody have any info about this cross?

My welsh laid very well, but I considered getting a hen of another breed to try different crosses.

the two yellow and black ducklings are cayuga x welsh harlequin. I will take a photo soon of them now they are bigger.

They are sex-linked. My female displays both female sex-linked traits from the breed of both parents (Cayuga and Welsh Harlequin). She has the welsh harlequin coloration in the little patch that shows through in her chest, and it shows through the black in some spots. She has the beak of her mother (welsh harlequin) and feather pattern. I think as she gets older rather than get as many white feathers she may have more of the welsh harlequin feathers appear out from under the black feathers, as it seems like a veil of sorts.
