Welsumer Eggs on the Way!!!

While I was doing chores today I noticed that one of the welsumers combs has gotten very red. I went to pet her and she went into the egg squat.

I am hoping to have a new layer by weeks end. (fingers crossed)

My SLW swirl has been doing that for a few weeks and still nothing. She practically chases me to do the squat. It will be my first egg ever and the suspense is killing me!

It will happen when you least expect it. Mine started on Aug. 14th when I was riding in the MS Pedal to the Point bicycle ride. Since then I have gotten almost 3 dzn eggs but all from my BR and Golden Buffs. Will be sweet when the others start. They are all 22-23 weeks old now.

THAT'S IT!!! I just checked on Craigs List and there's a fella about 10 miles away that has Welsummer's for sale (hatched this past spring) for $10.

I MUST have those dark eggs...they're beautiful!

Can't wait to see pics of your first egg!
