About 4 weeks ago I went to a hatchery and purchased a few chicks as friends for the only chick that hatched from the incubator. I wanted 3 Welsummer chicks 1 boy 2 girls. I noticed a week later, that one of the chicks I thought was a Welsummer looked different to the other two. I felt sure about the other two Welsummer in regards gender, but now both their combs have grown in the last week. Please see below images.

Chick 1 (Unknown Breed)

That first one is def a Welsummer too. Wing pattern looks just like mine did as a chick. Mine tuned out to be a gremlin of a rooster (pretty though). Grabbing some pics now for you

Being partridge coloured, Welsummer pullets will feather in with salmon chests and cockerels will have black on their chests. It may be a bit patchy to start with but it will fill in as they get older.

These are my partridge British Tailed Araucana and I can see a difference in them as their chest feathers grow in.

I've got another one that looked salmon to start with but it now has black splotches on its chest so it's another little dude. So keep an eye on those chests and hopefully they'll feather in fast for you. Try not to worry too much about their combs at this point in time. It's more if they start sprouting bright pink wattles that you know you've got a boy.

If I know more in regards gender in 4 weeks, I will update with pictures, hopefully more girls than boys.

I think/hope they are all Welsummer chickens, I just have not seen or heard of Welsummer's with pink legs? They are now 9-10 weeks old. Please let me know what you think in regards gender. Thanks in advance.
