Hi. I am new to raising chicken and was wondering if someone could help me out.
I got 3 hens 2 Welsummerand 1 leghorn. The Welsummer do not have tails. Is that normal ? I was told they were 5 months old.

Any other tips for a new owner would also be greatly appreciated.[IMG]

I don't know about the Welsummer's - how old are they? Can you feel any tail bone, or do you mean they just don't grow tail feathers? You may want to post photos at
what breed or gender is this.

They don't look like Welsummers. Can you post pics of them in natural lighting?

They should have tails. Maybe you got some other breed from the seller?

I think they look more like Partridge Rocks.

Partridge Rocks, and they could be missing tail feathers from a juvenile molt or from feathering picking. I have occasionally had Barred Rock mixes that never developed tail feathers.
