Welsummers Are Laying (PICS)

    I have two Welsummer pullets, Alma and Justine. Alma has been laying a few weeks and lays a very dark egg. Justine started about a week ago and lays a lighter, more speckled egg. Here they are with others for contrast.

    Oh I like the looks of that girl!! Very nice, been thinking of getting a hen or two that would make lovely dark eggs......

    Alma is a decent size girl, larger than Justine. I haven't actually weighed her, though. I'm thinking she weighs probably close to six pounds and will most likely fill out more as she matures. The patterns in the feathers are just gorgeous when you see them close up.
