My girls went to roast wet from the freezing rain during the day. the temps are going to drop down tonight. Should I be concerned or will they be alright. it is not going to be real cold but cold enought to freeze.

It didn't quite freeze here, but it got close. The birds were still wet from having been out in the rain. They were fine, they huddled up in their "house". I had given them some scratch (has cracked corn) before they went to roost. It helps them generate extra body heat.

My chickens all got out in the rain, and it has been freezing for several days. They sleep all cuddled up, too, and were dry the next day. GracefulBantams said she puts vaseline on hers combs and feet to prevent frostbite. I didn't get a chance to before the cold came, but all of mine are young and have short combs. I think the single comb type roos have the biggest worry of frostbite because the edge is so far from their body warmth.
