This last weekend the girls experienced their first rain showers and thunderstorm. For the most part they rode it out under the coop which is 2' off of the ground at one end of the tractor. BUT then when my son ran to the truck to get a bag of soon to be soaked charcoal from the bed he ran across the front of the house by the coup. AND of course our ever willing to lend a hand, advice, or occasional commentary chicks decided to run along and see what he was doing. Oh how I wish he'd had the foresight to run back past the coup and lead them back to a dry area.

They survived and didn't seem any worse for the wear. Just a bit wet.

Mine are out in the rail all the time, crazy birds! The only ones I would worry about with rain would be the silkies, sultan, polish breeds because mine ALWAYS got sick after they would get wet...some died. I think the vaulted skull is the reason.
