what age can you tell the sex?

what age are you guys able to tell the sex of the chicks? could you tell at 1 week or is that two early

It totally depends on the breed.

It would be pretty hard to tell at one week. You could post some pictures and we could try to guess, though!

I think with the majority of breeds, it takes more than a week unless you feather or vent sex them. The only breed out of those that I am familiar with is cochins and I could sometimes sex them around 2-3 weeks, but my guess was not always right.

Barred rocks you can tell as day olds by the dot or splotch on their heads.
