What age would turkeys start laying?
Most will reach sexual maturity by 28 weeks of age. Variety, breeder selection for early maturity, light, latitude and weather conditions also play a role in that first egg.

Mine was born in the early spring and didn't lay her first egg until spring of the following year.
Most will begin laying in spring about a year after they hatched.
do wild/eastern turkeys have a longer wait time than domestic birds?
I am just learning about turkeys, but last week my DH was out walking the dogs in the pasture and a they came across a wild turkey with poults. I was surprised they hatched out a nest so early because we had a very long cold winter here.
My turkeys are 30weeks now and the have not start laying...
If your turkeys were hatched this spring they should start laying next spring. Turkeys are seasonal layers and if artificial lighting is not provided they typically lay from spring to fall.
Pls I can't get you.
