    Hey Everyone,

Hope I'm posting this in the correct place...
Our baby silkies are anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks. Is it okay to dust them for mites now? Or do we need to wait until they are older?
I've tried to look up the information, and I'm getting a lot of different answers.[IMG]
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

Are you dusting as a preventative or because they already have mites? IMO, they are old enough to be safely dusted. A friend of mine had to dust chicks that were just a week old once, and they had no adverse side effects.

I've had to dust one day old chicks before. I was extremely careful about head, face, etc. but it had to be done. The only thing that happened was that the mites were gone!

But don't dust unless they have them.
