Are they babies? I put chicks on wire after one week, using 1/4" hardware cloth. As they grow and the poop gets bigger, I then move them to 1/2" inch hardware cloth. Adult Bobs can go on 1/2" at any time. [IMG]

If I remember correctly my coturnix went on wire at two weeks.

Mine go on wire right from the hatcher... however, for the first 5-7 days I usually have a piece of rubber shelf liner or paper towel in there under the light to help them get their footing. 1/4" hardware cloth to start, then up to 1/2" when they're full size.
