What age does a chicken go from pullet to a hen? Just curious. [IMG]

I think it is when they turn a year old that become a "hen." Not 100% sure, though. [IMG]

Most breeders define a pullet as under 1 year and a hen over one year.

If it became a hen when it laid eggs we wouldn't define the eggs as 'pullet eggs'.

A cockeral is under one year. A rooster is over 1 year.
