You should wait until he/she is older to see if by then he/she crows, but until then, you can't know unless you have a huge science lab.

Haha okay thanks. It has started making some funny noises but I brought home 2 poults last week and all the chicks have started making their version of turkey noises! lol

It is still too early to be 100% sure. But it looks like a cockerel to me. His comb is much redder than a pullets would be at his age. Also, he has very long, thick legs which is also an indicator for him being a cockerel. What breed is he?

Thank you that's what I am thinking as well. I was told Asian pullet at TSC..

He's a good boy. It kinda depends I had only intended on keeping one roo but as it turns out I'm fairly certain all of my first 6 chicks I got are little boys >.< This one had a broken leg that I splinted and cared for specially for a couple weeks so I am kinda attached to him. He is more docile as a result.

Pullets that age wouldn't show such an advanced degree of comb development. It's pretty early yet to know for sure, but I'm suspecting handsome little cockerel.
